I am a Storyteller who connects science, culture, and conservation.

“Narrative is the poetry that connects the numbers, the music to go with the math.”
— Casey Seiler

I’m a globe-trotting explorer with an insatiable curiosity for science, art, and culture.

I grew up in the lush mountains of Tennessee, always chasing questions: Why do ants engineer entire ecosystems? What secrets swirl in the deep sea? How do the stories we tell shape the world we live in?

Now based in Savannah, Georgia, I work at the crossroads of storytelling and discovery as a National Geographic Explorer, writer, filmmaker, podcast producer, photographer, and exhibit developer. I co-founded Oh Sister Productions (with my sister Tracy) and Prehensile Productions (with Keith Heyward), where storytelling is our superpower — a way to bring science, culture, and conservation to life across every medium.

My award-winning work has taken me to all seven continents and into some of the planet’s most extreme environments. From Miwene, a feature-length documentary on Indigenous resilience in the Ecuadorian Amazon, to Chasing Twilight, a deep-sea science film created with Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution, I’ve worked with partners like National Geographic, Discovery, Harvard, MIT, NPR, and ARTECHOUSE to tell stories that inspire wonder, deepen understanding, and spark action.

Right now, I’m diving deep into several projects I’m passionate about — including Born from Mist, a cinematic film and educational initiative tracing the hidden freshwater systems of Argentina’s cloud forests, and the Company 1433 Project, an archival and curriculum effort documenting the legacy of an all-Black Civilian Conservation Corps unit in the Okefenokee.

At the heart of all my work is a belief in the power of place, the urgency of equity, and the thrill of discovery. I specialize in immersive, cross-platform storytelling that makes the invisible visible — whether that’s the eerie shimmer of bioluminescence, the ancient rhythms of a forest, or the untold histories embedded in a landscape.

When I’m not out in the field, you’ll probably find me in my coastal garden or wandering the wild swamps of Georgia. I’ve got a not-so-secret obsession with testing out new camera gear (which earned me the nickname “Gadget”), and I never turn down a chance to chase the next great story — wherever on Earth (or beyond) it leads.
